After seeing 27 dresses last night with my Joshie and getting my wedding dress out to take pictures of it I realized how precious clothing can be to someone.  In the movie the younger sister was given her mother’s wedding dress because she was getting married first, but she didn’t like it, so she cut it up (or got it altered) to make it into something different!

The older sister totally hated her for cutting their mommy’s dress apart, but I see the point the the younger sister had!  She was still savoring the memory of her mommy’s dress, it was just in an altered state!  It still brought all the warm fuzzy memories, but in a different form.

So my challenge for you today is to take a special piece of clothing or fabric to you, and alter it by making it into a memory on your scrapbook page!  Sound like fun?  :o)

(Oh and please don’t think that I am suggesting you cut up your wedding dress, or someone elses!! :o)

Here is a layout I made WOW probably 2 years ago or so where I used JJ’s cute little jean shorts right in the layout to match my favorite jean jacket on her in the pictures…  (I wasn’t willing to cut the jacket up, so I cut her shorts instead to make the jacket stand out.)

I also used my client’s ceremonial handkerchief on her layout months ago as a flower (on the left) and a sewn border (on the right), I had a whole half of it left that I tucked in between the layout and the page-protector.  You can see a close-up HERE.

And here is the next special piece of clothing I have been saving ever since B.Boy grew out of it!  It was TOTALLY my favorite on him!… and here are the pictures for that layout as well :o)

Stay tuned for the unveiling of this layout towards the end of the party :o)  I can’t wait :o)

Be sure when your layout is finished you post it on your blog and put a link in the comments here so everyone can see.  Happy Scrapping!  Oh… I forgot to mention what you are going to win… A Journey of Creativity Idea book from Rusty Pickle!

Oh, and just for some old fashion fun, check this out :o)…

From now on I will be posting my tackles over at 5MinutesForMom.  Janice was getting so overloaded with all that’s on her plate that when I asked her if she needed anything and she replied really not wanting to do Tackle it Tuesday anymore I was completely excited to step in!  Praise God that I will have this constant accountability and she will have less responsibility :o).

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I even made new Tackle it Tuesday buttons and shared a tip on how to syphon water with a hose this week.

Of coarse you will still find me here on Tuesdays giving you hints on what I tackled for the week, but you will have to hop over there to see all the dirty details (literally)…. and this week’s a doozey!

Here’s your hint…

Hey ladies joining me from the Sunday Scrappin’ Hub, nice to see you here.

Well my TA-DAs, hum?  I got some of my to-do’s done from last week…

  • I cleaned up my scrap space AGAIN (pics above)… I feel like I just did this!
  • I entered one of my orders for National Scrapbook Day (which I am totally excited about because from the product I ordered they decided to match that amount in promotional products for giveaways!)
  • I also downloaded some new fonts from Allie Hoopes to play with…
  • and a made a rolling “email me button” with my families pics for my blog (featuring a couple of those fonts).
    • Do you think a custom button like that would be a good giveaway for the upcoming party?

My TO-DO for this week will be… to put together my Rusty Pickle tutorial for the Scrapbooking Blog Party.  I think that’ll be it since I have B.Boy’s birthday party coming up next weekend.

Now for this week’s Bonus Question: What kind of projects do you do the most often?  Lately I have had a lot of altered projects, if you check my Scrappin’ Sunday page you will see that.

And Here’s a Bonus Question I missed from week 4:  Share a favorite tip or technique that you’ve learned recently…  Well I shared a tutorial for my most favorite technique last week… distressing.  Check it out and enjoy.

Happy Scrapping!

…Bitsy from Bloggin Bits… Congratulations my friend… Enjoy your Altered Paint Can

Hey ladies!!!  I am so excited, the party is finally here!  Welcome!  (PS>>> THE GIVEAWAY ON THIS POST WILL NOT END UNTIL MARCH FRIDAY 28th :o)

Let me introduce myself… my name is Carolyn, I am a born again christian, and a mother of 3. My youngest was born just 7 weeks ago, my oldest is 3, and my middle is going to be 2 in April.  I am 25 years old and have been happily married for 7 years.  I love scrapbooking and encouraging others in doing so… hence the Scrapping Servant :o)

Here is a great photo of my 3 little ones…

I also have a recipe to share from a party I went to at my church on Valentine’s Day… I even took a picture for you… doesn’t it look YUMMY?!

 Mini Cheesecakes

  • 1 (12 oz) package vanilla wafers (Nilla or generic brand)
  • 2 (8oz) package cream cheese (Philadelphia Cream Cheese or generic brand)
  • 3/4 white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (make sure it is in heavy syrup not the one in water)
  • 1 - 2 Reynolds FOIL Baking Cups (32 per package)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Put one vanilla wafer per one foil baking cup (or crush vanilla wafers and place them into each cup as much as you like)
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  4. Fill each baking cup to 1/3 - 2/3 (it’s really your call on how much)
  5. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or even less depending on your oven’s temperament
  6. Cool and top with cherry pie filling (again, as much or less as you like it).
  7. Chill and serve (it really tastes way better chilled)

Oh and be sure to leave a comment on this post to enter in a little giveaway I will be having for the party… sorry it took me so long to post what it is… it’s an altered paint can perfect in place of any regular gift bag, or as an Easter “basket”, a great place for keepsakes, it even comes with a key!

Also reminiscing on life this time last year… I won my first page layout contest, I was working through the loss of a baby, I was taking the Library of Memories class from Big Picture Scrapbooking, I purchased my MacBook Pro, and I joined Tackle it Tuesday for the first time :o)

And now one year later God has blessed me with a newborn daughter (AWESOME)!!!  But He also blessed me with a new flatscreen computer monitor for my husband (you see I screwed up on the budget around Christmastime when our car needed repairs done and I couldn’t spoil my hubby like I usually do for Christmas, but God prompted some friends of ours gave us $300 cash!!! I still haven’t told my husband who it came from because I pray that their reward will be in heaven and not here on earth (Matthew 6:19-21).  God has been so good to us, and you through this blog are part of that blessing, thank you all!
