Okay ladies, here is a tutorial for a really cute Fathers Day card.

And as for today’s giveaway… there are two…

  1. Leave a comment here to be entered to win the Stamp Set used for this card.
  2. Design a card using the same main aspects but with your own elements, share your card on your blog, link back here and be entered to win a Thank You Card Making Kit from S.E.I.

Here’s me with my two older kiddos making a Valentine for my hubby… I was so proud of my daughter she did a good job… she even wrote her name and the word ‘Daddy’ all by herself.  I LOVE the picture of her trying to use the corner rounder!

I got the idea for the card from here… one of my favorite sites for inspiration.

…this week I will still be tackling my client’s wedding album, along with my crazy children and the housework which I will update you on later today, but late last night I started getting serious with my Christmas cards!  Three of them are going out in the morning, lol!  The rest need eyelets, ribbon, writing, and envelopes still.  Here is what they look like, outside and in…

Recognize the stamp I used from the stamps you all helped me decide on back in June?  This one was by far my favorite!

MY UPDATE:

  • I got a ton of my laundry done because I decided that it all needed to sit in the middle of my kitchen!  My kitchen is much closer to the washer and dryer and I cannot have that out of sight out of mind problem anymore.
  • Of coarse before I dragged all the laundry in there I cleaned up the kitchen floor.
  • I also (finally) got my front room picked up of the toys that haunt it…
  • I even swept under the Christmas tree!
  • On top of all this I finished my Christmas shopping,
  • got a little grocery shopping done,
  • finished putting together all my Christmas cards
  • another 7 of them will go out tomorrow (I need more stamps)
  • I even managed to stay sane with my kids and play a new board game with my daughter that she got for her birthday :o)

Here is a wedding invitation I made that matches with the mini paint can/center pieces I shared back in September. This was the first time I ever used digital scrapping brushes in photoshop, it was fun.

And here is some wedding layouts for my wonderful client, she was such a beautiful bride! And just look at her adorable bridesmaids!

In this layout I finally tried a couple new techniques… on the left I put acrylic paint in the grooves of my Making Memories letter charms to make the L-O-V-E stand-out… in the middle-corner I let my sewing machine poke holes, then I sewing with embroidery thread by hand to give me nice straight lines… and on the left I stamped with my Close to My Heart Playful Flourishes with versamark ink covered in grey chalk to give it the soft tone-on-tone look.

I also used Heidi Swapp fuzzy rub-ons for the first time, it was a little harder to get them to transfer compared to traditional rub-ons, but the raised detail was totally worth the trouble.

Be sure to let me know what you think of my work, I could use a good critique, especially since all this work is for my clients… thank you ladies…. have a get day!

Hello Everybody I have been so blessed by blogging with you all that I want to have a little giveaway as a thank you.

It will be a $30 gift certificate for Joyous Creations and all you have to do is comment on this blog post to enter.  You can even spread the word for others to comment if you think they would like to win as well.

The winner will be announced on any Friday of my choice :o)

I also wanted to let you all know that you will not see me around as often since we will be disconnecting the internet here at my home.  But I will be able to get on every once in a while at friends houses, or at crops, or my friend’s scrapbook studio, so I will still be “here”.

Love you all and God bless!

My baby’s first picture! This is from my doctor’s appointment on Monday. I was so happy to see him/her in there growing happily. Now it is much easier not to worry about anything!

Also today is my birthday and I had such an awesome day! A good friend of mine took me out all day…in the morning I had a facial (my first ever), we had a great lunch together (BBQ chicken pizza and a C-Monster Odwalla).  After that we went to get my hair cut, then we went to the mall where I got a make-over at Bare Escentuals. By the time I got home my hubby was already there waiting (he got of work early) so I opened some gifts from family then we went out, bought me some shoes and went out to dinner at Acapulco Restaurant

I LOVE teaching others to do art!

Once a year before Christmas time me and my friend host a Christmas Card making Party to teach others to handmake different designs of cards. It has been so fun, but last year we skipped it because planning ahead didn’t happen. And the year before that my cards were a little too complex for others to want to learn… mind you they all did great and ended up LOVING their cards, but they thought I was crazy for putting so much work into the designs……

Well this year since I will be placing an order with Stampendous very soon I am deciding to plan ahead, and purchase some of their Christmas stamps in a hope to simply things a bit.  I will just teach more stamping and less paper piecing, or sewing, lol!  These are the ones I am planning on purchasing… let me know what you think.  Which is your favorite?  And which would you choose last?
