If you didn’t notice on my November 2nd post I am encouraging a little giveaway, and having one of my own.  If you have not yet signed-up to win what I am giving be sure to comment here or on on my last Friday for Friends post. Here is a couple pics of the altered items that are included in my giveaway from Joyous Creations.

Okay ladies as I promised, the recipe is here.  But now that I am finally posting it I’m remembering back to when I wasn’t even willing to make one of these suckers, it took me forever just mulling over the idea before I made one.  I didn’t see the point, what would it be used for?

Well, let me tell you just in case you are as bad as I was… they can pretty much be used in the place of any gift bag, but even more cute and specific, like with themes of a spa retreat, a date/movie night, a wedding engagement, a baby shower and so on. They also make good raffle, card, donation, suggestion, or even supply buckets.

My first paint can was for a client’s husband’s retirement party about a year ago.  The party was Mardi Gras themed, so I made her a themed can and some tags to match, she put it all on a table where people wrote their best wishes for her husband on the tags and put them in the can.  I ended up making a custom album for her as well with the party pictures where I used the tags, it was wonderful… and I was sold!!!  I have made about 40 cans since.  Including the 16 I made recently for my dear friend’s wedding reception centerpieces (pictured above). The possibilities are endless.

Be sure to check out our other Recipes including a paper bag album, a lunch pail tin and a Starbucks frappuccino box.

I must admit this is a fun tackle, but I am also a procrastinator, so that makes it just a little bit stressful, but I am also starting to think I work (artistically) pretty well under pressure.

I am making 16 of these little suckers by Friday…

Of coarse if you are a fan of my Scrapbooking Recipes you should check back sometime soon because I am going to make a recipe for altered paint cans as well. They are so fun to make, you won’t want to miss it!

Of coarse these two are not complete yet, they are missing some embellishments, but since I am making 16 of them I have an order I go in… the cans all have the paper glued on them, now I am in the ribbon tying stage, then I will embellish :o) I will show you the finished product when I am done :o)

This is a close-up on an altered paint can I made and although I love paint cans, flowers, ribbon and this paper, that is not today’s thing that makes me go MMMM.

My thing is Jewels! They are so yummy and so easy to use!The jewel that is at the center of the flower came in a kit from the dollar store and the romance one is a sticker by Me & My Big Ideas.

They are probably my favorite for choice for rhinestone words, but there are plenty of other companies that make jewels for scrapbooking such as Heidi SwappQueen & CoImaginisceTop Line CreationsEK Successs and more… I even buy plain little packs at Michaels

MMMMM!!!

Want to make a wonderful gift like this one… ?

It only took me a couple hours from start to finish including notes and pics for you, so please don’t be discouraged this is an easy one.

If you want to learn how to make a fun altered box like this one…

Let me know what you think of my instructions, share them with others, and if you make something come back and share it with me :o)

I have been quite behind on my Scrapping for Others work. My dear husband says I should stop waiting till the last minute to do things, but my response is always that I am taking a break to get some rest, but then after I get the “rest” I have to cram :o).

So this week is me cramming. I have three different albums all due very soon, and one last minute Altered Art project to do. Here is a photo of the custom paint can a client of mine requested as a gift for her Pastor’s wife at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship.

And here are some of the layouts from the memorial album I delivered to a friend of mine as a sympathy gift for his wife Lila passing away a year ago of Cancer.

I also set up about 114 photos into 12×12 layout form to get ready to review them and take comments on them with my client tomorrow.

These albums make a great gift, this particular album is not only the first one I have ever made, but it is also a gift for my in-laws as a welcome home… they moved to Maui under two years ago, and they just got back two days ago.

If you want to learn how to make a fun altered paper bag album like the one above, click the picture above, thank you.

This is my first altered clipboard, it is a project for a class I am talking with Big Picture Scrapbooking called Library of Memories taught by Stacy Julian. The class is awesome so far, teaching me a liberating new way to organize my photos and layouts giving me more time to actually scrapbook! which is great because trying to do stuff for myself among all I do for others gets difficult at times. Stacy (whom I know understands my busyness) was actually blessed with this system she teaches about 41/2 years ago, and still loves to continue using it and sharing it with others. She even includes a detailed list of the organizational products she has used so we can glean from her choices. I can’t wait to learn more, and pass on what I have learned :) As Stacy would say, “This is So Big”.
