I found their blog just a couple weeks ago from one of their previous “pick of the week” winners Erin Bassett. And I found Erin from the Blog-Abration Party that my friend Tasra is hosting at her blog Lessons from the Scrapbook Page. (Check it out)

Also check out the little contest the Making Memories blog is having, I love this blog… if you are not signed up for their news letter yet, sign-up and mention me :o)

Also if you want to enter to be one of Prima’s weekly winners, all you have to do is comment on their blog or enter a design in the Prima gallery.

You could be a winner too!

IKEA!!!

Need I say more? My bookshelf (I once tackled) is from Ikea, the scrapbook shelving in my closet is from Ikea, the dressersnightstands, and lamps in my bedroom are from Ikea, and now THIS….

The new things are the two shelves in the middle and the two bars beneath them with hanging organizers. Of coarse (again) I got this idea from my good friend Andrea, she uses Ikea organizing in her scrapbook studio, it’s wonderful!!!

I now have a very handy and reachable basket for my paints that were all hidden in a drawer before… not a good place for them since I use them so often.

I also have a basket for my wooden stamps (Old and new, recognize them?) they were just taking up desk space, but I don’t want them hiding away either.

And I have a great spot to put an open album with my latest layout on display. I have always loved to do that, but it always eventually got in the way and I had to move it. Now I won’t have to because it’s nice and high.

You may also notice (in the first picture) a 12×12 layout with a photo of my daughter on it… that’s a sneak peek of the layouts I am doing from the photos I showed you on the 2nd of July. No worries, I will share when I am all finished.

Good talking at you ladies, I hope all is well.

This is a close-up on an altered paint can I made and although I love paint cans, flowers, ribbon and this paper, that is not today’s thing that makes me go MMMM.

My thing is Jewels! They are so yummy and so easy to use!The jewel that is at the center of the flower came in a kit from the dollar store and the romance one is a sticker by Me & My Big Ideas.

They are probably my favorite for choice for rhinestone words, but there are plenty of other companies that make jewels for scrapbooking such as Heidi SwappQueen & CoImaginisceTop Line CreationsEK Successs and more… I even buy plain little packs at Michaels

MMMMM!!!

I LOVE teaching others to do art!

Once a year before Christmas time me and my friend host a Christmas Card making Party to teach others to handmake different designs of cards. It has been so fun, but last year we skipped it because planning ahead didn’t happen. And the year before that my cards were a little too complex for others to want to learn… mind you they all did great and ended up LOVING their cards, but they thought I was crazy for putting so much work into the designs……

Well this year since I will be placing an order with Stampendous very soon I am deciding to plan ahead, and purchase some of their Christmas stamps in a hope to simply things a bit.  I will just teach more stamping and less paper piecing, or sewing, lol!  These are the ones I am planning on purchasing… let me know what you think.  Which is your favorite?  And which would you choose last?

I haven’t shared with you lately a thing that makes me do MMMM!

Well here it is… a wall of pictures

I love to just stare over there every once in a while. I love seeing the growth of my children, just makes me heart skip a beat to see they will never be that small again.I also love the fact that even though my home does not have a fire place with a mantle to put pictures on my fish tank is a wonderful stand in :o)

MMMM ribbon and organization too :o) I love all different kinds of ribbon, and thus far have ended up with so much of it that I had to buy these (lovely) glass jars to keep it all in. I got them from an online Restaurant Supply store, because that is where I found the perfect size to maximize my amount of space used. I measured my shelf Length to see how many would fit across, the Depth, and the Height so I could get them as close to my ceiling as possible… then I purchased accordingly.

(I actually do this measure then plan routine often, look here and you can tell I measured how much space my desk would take, and I also measured perfectly for my Ikea shelving to fit in the closet with my paper rack.)

I also found a new place to purchase my ribbon! Thank you Jenn! It’s a great online store called Ribbon & Bows Oh My! They have a very decent selection at very good prices, and even though I have only had contact with them twice, I noticed they are very sweet.

Today I would like to share both a scrapbooking thing and a personal thing. My MMMM for scrapbooking happens to be fun titles. I love stitching my titles, and I love chipboard.

To stitch these titles I wrote the word on my page with a pencil, and with embroidery thread I did a simple backstitch going over the penciled in word.

For the shinny black look on my chipboard monograms I first painted them with black acrylic paint, then I embossed them with ultra-thick clear embossing enamel.

As for the personal thing that makes me go MMMM… it’s DANCE! I danced for 6 years… jazz, tap, modern, ballet… and I miss it a lot!!! I have a favorite movie that I have been watching all the time because I am borrowing it and am getting my fill before I have to give it back, lol.  Here is one of my favorite scenes from Step Up.

It’s that time again… time for me to share a THING with you that makes me go MMMM :o) Today it is Patterned Paper, not just plan patterned paper, but patterned paper with a POP!

This particular pattern I outlined with my chocolate brown marker to make it more bold, then when my layout was complete I took a duplicate sheet, cut out my desired flowers and leaves, matted them on coordinating paper, and used my 3D dots to pop them up! I love this effect!

I actually did an altered paint can with this same pattern and plan, but I do not have a photo of it. It was the only can for a client that I almost couldn’t give up.

This layout totally shows some of my favorite things all in one place. I love a simple clean look, sewingmetalacrylic paint, my cricut, some good stamps and I love tearing my photos, it gives a nice alternative to photo matting. I also think RED is my “happy color“. Of coarse there are a lot more things tickle my fancy as far as scrapbooking goes, but I will share more next week, be sure to join me, and leave me a comment with your link so I can see how you are ticklish. hehehehe.
