Update on Family Happenings… January 31, 2008

Filed under: Family Happenings — Carolyn @ 1:49 pm

My little one is doing great!  She is now two weeks old on her due date.  She lost a little weight waiting for my milk to come in, but now she is already over 6 pounds (I’m so proud of her).  My husband and I are very happy with our bigger family (adding one more has definitely made a difference) but we are both pretty tired.

I am crying almost everyday from the lack of sleep, but I also seem to still be nesting… today I swept and vacuumed in and under all the couches, under the tv cabinet, the fish tank and the toy baskets.  I also reorganized a little because am also planning a room swap here at home. We are going to put the family computer out in the front room, and move the rest of the office to the smaller room my SIL lives in (giving her the bigger room).  I am planning on purchasing this smaller desk from Ikea for the front room, it will go in the corner where my kids toys were…

And this little table and chair set will go in the “new” office space for the kids…

Yes… this means I am moving my entire scrap room from one space to another!

Wish me luck :o) I’ll keep you posted as I move along.

I purchased my BIG BITE!!! January 29, 2008

Yep! I actually made up my mind :o)

The following review video helped answer my questions…then I purchased it on HSN.com with 350 grommets. I originally wanted it with a case, not embellishments, but I can get over that for now and just wait till the case shows up in stores… especially if it shows up at Michaels so I can use a 50% off coupon :o) )

The Birth Story January 22, 2008

Filed under: Family Happenings — Carolyn @ 2:29 pm

So, as you know I had an appointment on Wednesday the 16th, where my doctor didn’t like my blood pressure, so she striped my membranes to hopefully move things along.

Later that night I was having some pretty bad contractions and we thought I was in labor, so my husband made a few calls and off we went to the hospital.  My contractions stopped as soon as I got there, total bummer!  We sat around in the hospital all night with nothing happening and no news on what my doctor wanted to do with me.

We eventually made the decision to start Pitocin since they would have eventually induced me anyway for my blood pressure.  Things were fine at the beginning, but as soon as things got as painful as they were the night before I started freaking out and I gave up on the pain.

I made the decision to get an epidural (which I now know I will never do again) and 15 minutes later the anesthesiologist came in ready to poke me… which he ended up doing three times because the first two times he hit bone!  (I had one angry husband watching!)

So the pain started going away and the pressure started coming!  My little girl was right there ready to be delivered :o)  I went from 3 centimeters to 10 in less than an hour!

She was born 5 lbs. 11oz. and 18.5 inches.  My smallest baby yet.

God is good to us, we are both healthy and my hubby is home with us all week.

My other two kiddos unfortunately have a cold though, so we are going through a bit of a trial here at home, but again… God is good.

On my Wishlist or Not? January 17, 2008

This new tool debuted on the Home Shopping Channel almost a week ago, when I didn’t have money :o)  Now I don’t think it will show up in stores till March.

I am excited that they fixed it from the old version that barely went into the paper (pictured to the left)… but I’m not really sure if it will make things harder, and does it still punch holes???  I almost bought the older green one in the case a couple weeks ago, and am still mulling over the decision.

My Doctor’s Appointment Today… January 16, 2008

Filed under: Family Happenings — Carolyn @ 1:37 pm

…had some unexpected news.  My blood pressure was up to the point where my doctor had me lay down for 10 minutes in the office and retake it.  She said it went down, but she still wanted to see me again tomorrow, and if it is still bad tomorrow she wants to talk induction tomorrow night.  The stork might be coming sooner than I thought.

Tackling a New Blog Design January 15, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Carolyn @ 1:41 pm

I have been playing on my computer a lot here… tackling a new blog design, let me know what you think (or if you can help, lol!).  I’m not really sure on how all of these different scripts I have are going to function.  I teach myself all of it, so I really don’t have ANY clue how any of it really works :o)  Even though it is a lot of work… I sure do think it’s pretty!!!I’ve gotta go to bed now even though I am getting small (uncomfortable) contractions off and on. Good night my friends.
